2nd semi-final of Eurovision
Here are my thoughts on the 2nd semi final :)
Serbia
The vocals were great and I liked the melody of the song. The performance was touching, the costumes looked good and the stage built the mood very well.
Rating: 5/5
F.Y.R. Macedonia
The vocals were good, I thought the song kicked in a bit late but after it did it held my attention for the remainder and I liked the mix of classical music and rock. I liked the performance and how the performers were placed on the stage, I liked the costumes and the stage looked good.
Rating: 5/5
The Netherlands
The vocals were good and I liked the high notes although the song was just okay. The performance was okay but I didn't get what was up with that Native American headgear.. Anyways, I liked the look of the stage.
Rating. 3/5
Malta
The male vocals were good except for the "Eh, Eh" thing but the female singer was awful. The song was entertaining and lively and the performance was also. The costumes were okay but I didn't like the stage desing.
Rating: 3/5
Belarus
I didn't like the vocals because his accent made it sound like he was singing " Bracking down the wall" and the ending was horrid. The song was generic and boring and the performance was forgettable. The costumes were dreadful and the stage was ugly and forgettable.
Rating: 0/5
Portugal
The vocals were great but the song was just okay. The performance was emotional and passionate. The costuems were really good, especially the singer's golden dress and the stage was great and actually fit in well with her dress.
Rating: 4,5/5
Ukraine
The vocals were mediochre and kind of thick in a bad way. The song is slightly annoying after a while of her repeating the phrase "be my guest" over and over again while being accompanied by annoying trumpets it gets very repetitive. The performance was nothing special although the guys with the trumpets were okay. The dress didn't look good on the singer and the stage was both disorienting and headache inducing.
Rating: 0/5
Bulgaria
The vocals were bad and out of tune and the song was bland. The performance was boring, the costuming horrendous and the stage forgettable.
Rating: 0/5
Slovenia
I didn't like the vocals, especially the ones of the blonde singer though the brunette wasn't good either. The song was generic and kinda boring. The performance did feel forced but both the costumes and stage looked pretty good.
Rating: 2/5
Croatia
The vocals lacked power and the song was just okay. I didn't like the performance as the choreography was pretty bad and the singers just stood still so it felt like a strange mix of awkward and dull. I didn't like the costumes and the stage was forgettable and bland.
Rating: 0,5/5
Sweden
The vocals were good and the song had a beautiful and flowing melody. The performance was superb and I liked the choreography. I liked the costuming, espacially how flowing her clothes were and the usage of wind. The stage was really atmospheric and I liked how they used the lights.
Rating: 5/5
Georgia
The vocals were okay though the accent was a bit distracting and the song was okay. The performance was okay, I liked the girls' costumes and the stage was forgettable.

The vocals were irritating and bad and the song was generic. I didn't like the performance the costumes were nothing special and the stage was simply mediochre.

Yes! After 6 years there's finally another rock band in Eurovision!! The vocals were good, I thoroughly enjoyed the song and felt it was a real rock song. The performance, costumes and stage design were all perfect.

The vocals were dissapointing. They lacked power and went out of tune in the end. The song was mediochre at best and the performance was okay. The costumes were nothing special and so was the stage.
Rating: 0,5/5
Bosnia and Hersegovina
The vocals and song were bland and so was the performance. The costume was horrible and the stage was bland.
Rating: 0/5
Lithuania
The vocals were good and the song was nothing special. The performance started off bland, I liked the cartwheel he did when the tempo changed but he didn't keep up the energy. I found the rhinestone headband a bit too flashy for me and I didn't like the stage.

First Semi-Final Of Eurovision
Well, it is Eurovision-season and as I am an avid fan I love to review it. So, it is time for this year's first Eurovision review... enjoy :3
Now I have this scale which is divided into 5 parts: Singing, Song, Performance, Costumes and Stage. Each of these can give the song 1 point and the best I can give is 5/5. So, here is my review of the songs in the first Semi-final for Eurovision 2012 in correct order.
Montenegro
The singing was average at best and the music was an attempt at ripping off a europop beat that failed so miserably that it almost put me to sleep. The singer looked and kind of acted like he was drunk and bored and the costumes were cheap and forgettable and kind of made him look like a hobo. I did kind of like the trippy backgrounds but the random horse and texts confused me..
Rating: 0,5/5
Iceland
I thoroughly enjoyed this song. Some people might say that it is because I am Icelandic but I must say that I am sometimes even more critical about Icelandic songs and genuinely think this is the best song Iceland has sent to Eurovision since Jóhanna got to second place. The singing was magnificent and the music was beautiful. I could clearly hear that this was a work of hard labour and passion. The singers had great chemistry together and the back-up vocalists were great. The costumes were simply perfect and fitted the atmosphere perfectly, along with the stage the performance was great and the background transition of the sunrise fitted perfectly.
Rating: 5/5
Greece
The singing was disapointing. I had heard her before and I know she has potential but this was just horrible. I did like the song itself and the performance was energetic. The costumes were okay and so was the background but it barely catched my eye.
Rating. 2,5/5
Latvia
I liked the singing but the song was nothing special. I did like the performance as it was fun and quirky with nice choreography and the costumes were cool. The stage was okay.
Rating: 3/5
Albania
I didn't like the singing. She tended to go out of tune on her high notes and the rest was just not that memorable as was the song. The performance, on the other hand, was really good and I could feel the pain in her eyes. The costume was horrible....to say the least. I don't know what she was thinking by making them do her hair up like that and the dress reminded me of a cheap version of the wicked stepmother dress from Snow white. The stage was atmospheric and very beautiful and think it's a shame that the song isn't as good as the build up of the atmosphere.
Rating: 2/5
Romania
The singing was nothing to write home about bit still pretty good and the song had a good beat and fun feel. The performance and choreography was fun.I kinda liked the girl's dress but the guys weren't as well dressed and I liked the vibrant heart background on the stage.
Rating: 4,5/5
Switzerland
The singer used his voice in an annoying way and had a thick accent while singing a song which is basically a Coldplay rip-off trying to be a rock song at the same time. The performance and costumes were okay and the stage was pretty cool.
Rating: 2/5
Belgium
I was really dissapointed by Iris. I had heard her when she sang in the competition in Belgium and I was expecting great things from her. But when she got on the stage the first thing I noticed was that she was singing out of tune which is really distracting and ruined the whole song and I also noticed that she was trying to rip the voice thing the singer of the Cranberries did off and to top it her voice broke down at the end. The song was forgettable and her performance was okay. Her dress was the perfect one for her and was the only positive thing about the whole thin gas the stage was also just okay.
Rating: 2/5
Finland
I really liked this act. The singing was absolutely beautiful as the singer's voice was pure, clear and very pretty. The song was soothing and beautiful and suited the singer's voice perfectly and I liked the use of drums and strings. The performance was great as the sincerity and emotion shone from her eyes, her dress was pretty and I like how it blew around in the wind. The stage suited the mood well and the images of erupting fire brought a little bit of intensity to the performance.
Rating: 5/5
Israel
The voice of the singer was horrible and annoying and the song was equally irritating. The performance felt forced and the costumes were terrible along with the stage as it only disoriented me to the point of making me have a headache.
Rating: 0/5
San Marino
I see Eurovision has now got it's very own Rebecca Black. I found the singing boring and technically lacking with a little bit too much of an accent, the song was generic and boring and the performance felt forced as the singer always seemed so unnatural in her expressions and everything she did, really. The images floating towards you in the background got tired after the first 30 seconds and they really just annoyed me. The only good part of the act were the costumes which I found stylistic.
Rating: 1/5
Cyprus
The singing was not as good as I had hoped for but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The song was upbeat and lively and so was the performance and choreography. The costumes were okay and the stage was nothing special.
Rating: 4/5
Denmark
The singer has a great voice and the backing vocalists are great but I find the song pretty bland. The performance was full of energy and enjoyable, the costumes were diverse and cool and the stage atmospheric, yet chilled.
Rating: 4/5
Russia
The singing was dreadful. Alot of the ladies were out of tune and out of sync with the music which was nothing special. The performance was okay but the baking thing wasn't really entertaining. The costumes were okay and the stage was strange and tired my eyes. I know some people would just say "but it's a comedy entry" and to them I say: Comedy is supposed to be FUNNY and as this is neither funny nor entertaining I refuse to just be easy on it because it's supposed to be funny.
Rating: 0/5
Hungary
The singing lacked power and emotional intensity and the song was so generic and boring even the attempts of mixing dubstep with it, which failed, didn't even make it slightly better and it simply didn't work for me. The performance and costumes were nothing special and the stage design didn't work for me.
Rating: 0/5
Austria
They're average rappers but the "ooh, ooh." part was kind of repetitive. The song was generic but the choreography was good. I didn't like the outfitting but the stage worked for me.
Rating: 2,5/5
Moldova
The singer's thick accent made it almost impossible to understand a word he sang and the song was a generic folk-europopsong. I liked the quirky choreography but the girls' dresses kinda made them look like kettles. The stage was forgettable.
Rating: 1/5
Ireland
Their singing isn't anything special but it sure has gotten better since last year's competition so I guess they've been practising. The song is okay and the performance was quirky energetic and fun. The costumes on the other hand were too flashy for my taste and the stage was okay.
Rating: 3,5/5
My reactions to the results
Romenia ":)"
Moldova ":("
Iceland "YEEAAAAH! :D:D:D:D"
Hungary " ARRGH! >.<"
Denmark ":)"
Albania ":("
Cyprus ":)"
Greece ":("
Russia " You gotta be fucking kidding me.. >.<"
Ireland "meh.."
The greatest loss in my opinion was that Finland did not get through! It was a beautiful melody but instead Russia gets there... sometimes I don't understand this competition... -.-
If you like these reviews I would advice you to look out for the next one this thursday.

Wishmaster
Yes, the first Wishmaster review is finally here!! :)
Wishmaster is a 1997 movie directed by Robert Kurtzman.
It's about a woman that awakens a evil Djinn from a jewel. This Djinn has the power of granting wishes but grants them in a way, twisting the words so they have gruesome results. The djinn needs her to make three wishes as she awakened him and after he grants the third one he gets the ultimate power and can rule the world so she has to find away to save herself and her sister from the Djinns violent rampage.
Righ off the bat I see Wes Craven's name stapled on the movie, I thought for a minute that he might have directed it but I looked it up and it was some other guy, then I looked at the imdb page and found nothing and as it's nearly eleven o' clock at night and my internet is slow as fuck I decided to just not give a shi. Now, I am going to be frank with you and just say it straight out: I like this film very much! I mean, it'S not perfect but I think it's very enjoyable :)
The things I liked about it were for example the mood it sets sometimes and the tention that it brings like in the hallway scenes with the statues that came to life and that you were waiting for it and it delivered beautifully. The transitions are also very nicely pulled off and I think this film is pretty well written. The cameos from Robert englund, Kane Hodder and Tony Todd are awesome and come on, Tony Todd's character's name is Johnyy mothafuckign Valentine!! I mean, how cool is that?! I also really like the Djinn character, the actor, Andrew Divoff pulls it off so genuinally. You see in his performance exaclty how much the Djinn likes to torture these people by twisting their wishes and that shit eating grin is just awesome! I also like the theme of statues in the movie and the special efects are really amazing!
Now, to the nitpicking!
Althought I think this movie is pretty well written the problem is in the deliveries of some of the actors and the main problem is sadly, the main character! She is always underacting or overacting. When she's scared is so over the top you don't really know how to react and then at all other times she is so dull and underacting that you jsut kinda wanna go take a nap until the next time Divoff comes on. You find yourself cheering Divoff on because miss alexandra Mcboring isn't really developing into a characer that I'd like to see in the coming movies. Plus the scenes with her coaching the basketball team and her "motivating speeches" just make me sleepy. I mean, okay, okay, she's a nice person, I get it. But really?! Do you rally need her to be a good big sister and to coach a bunch of little amateur child actors as well... -.- Well, then there is one more thing that was kinda troubling me.All of the jumpscares exept the two last ones are really forced (that is the last two out of fucking sis). they managed to do one of te most annoying jump scares you cna have in a movie (except for the clichéed mirror one), using hte idea that people just sneak up on each other.. I mean, I don't do that and my friends don't do that.... Is it like a Hollywood thing or something? o.O Well, anyways the second one does the "boo" thing very unsuccesfully and then the others aren't really that special that I can remember them.
WEll, over all I really enjoyed this flick, sure the main actress is dull as fuck and the jump scares are lame but Andrew Divoff is amazing in his portrayal of the evil djinn and we have some pretty cool cameos from horror icons and fun gory scenes so I definitely recommend it :)
9/10
We do take requests and recommendations of movies to review, but be careful what you wish for, you might just get it ;)
Happy trails,

The Spy Next Door
The Spy Next Door is basically a Jackie Chan comedy.
It's about an ex spy Bob Ho (Jackie Chan) as he is trying to get to know the three children of his girlfriend Gillian (Amber Valetta) but after he gets some secret file sent to him by a fellow agent (Billy Ray Cyrus) Russian spies (MagnúsScheving and co.) are after him and he has to keep the children safe as he tries to solve their evil plan.
The only mistake it makes is being a "child-friendly" Jackie Chan comedy.
I like Jackie Chan, that is not the matter. He is pretty badass and knowing he does his own stunts only makes him more so, and he can pull off comedy but the fun of many of his other comedy films such as the Rush hour movie is that it certainly isn't a child-friendly one and thereas not afraid to kill off characters.
One joke in particular, where Magnús Scheving's character, Antosha is getting kinda annoyed that no one can find him a fitting outfitfor his position so he asks to get a typical American outfit. One of his men then promtly comes in with a cowboy costume and he fires his gun three times at him. I actually burst out laughing until I realized he had only shot at the clothes. If the movie wasn't so child oriented this joke could've been super funny but sadly it was ruined by the fact that it was for children. Sorry Jackie, but you should stay away from children's films. We want some fatalitly godammit!! Oh, and while I am talking about Magnús Scheving.... what is up with his accent? I mean, I love that guy, he's very famous in Iceland and he's Sportacus for fuck's sakes but he just can't shake off the goddarn Icelandic accent. I am Icelandic but I still can't stand it. I mean, he's cool ,he can fight and do all kinds of stunts but he still can't do a Russian accent?
Then there's the kids. Where do I start? Well, the thirteen year old is acting like a sixteen year old. I really think her part was grossly miscast. They really should've gone for an older girl for it. And falling for a college guy? she's 13 and he's probably about 18.... it would've worked better if she was sixteen or at least fifteen. Her underacting kinda bothered me as well. The geeky kid kinda got on my nerves. I get it that he's smart but he doesn't have to be a geek. I sure am not. The thing with his transformation is also kinda dumb, it's like " Chicks will dig you if you change your appearence even if you look like a guy straight from breakfast club..." and when he did download the concerts to become cool he didn't even listen to them to see if it was real? wtf?!. His bullies are probably the worst actors in the film, they can't even pretend to be laughing....-.-' The only good child actor in this movie is the 4 year old. It says alot about the movie when the best actor is a FUCKING FIVE YEAR OLD, doesn't it? You might be thinking "why is she such a good actor?". Well, my friend, it is because she acts like a fucking four year old like she's supposed to and thereas is the most believable.
The villains are okay. I think Antosha (Magnús Scheving) is good but with the right accent he would have been amazing, Tatiana was hot, found the thirteen year old's 2"crush" to be amusing but other than them they're just dull and forgettable and then casting George Lopez...o.O Well, that sure was something.
Billy Ray Cyrus is also in this movie. He plays..well, Billy Ray Cyrus. He's jsut there to be country and spout out terribly redneck sayings like "It's like trying to scratch your ear with your elbow" and honestly, I was waiting the whole movie for him to break into song!
There were some scenes I like, like the blonde joke Magnús makes, the "I thought he'd be better dressed" moment and the "they take copyright way too seriously" one and Jackie's english is hilarious in a good way... especially when he's trying to be serious.
The bonding scenes are on the other hand kinda forced and some of the child actors are very stiff and underact, Magnús' accent was really, really bad and some plot holes kinda surprized me, like when the villains go after Jackie, they don't bring any guns, well everyone except Tatiana and when the boy didn'T even listen to the file after he downloads it from Jackie's computer. then of course it is the ruined joke. You might think I was putting to much on it but, seriously, it could've been so awesome but it failed :(
Overall I think this movie was okay, it could've been more but bad acting, plot holes and child orientation ruined it at birth.
I give it 5/10
Happy trails,
-Íris
